Beaches in Agistri

Beaches are the strongest thing Agistri has, and it earns its four out of five. The character is pine and pebble rather than broad sand: Dragonera is the classic, fine pebbles with trees almost touching the water, and Aponissos is the postcard, a turquoise inlet by a bridged islet. Skala is the exception, golden sand and shallow water, which makes it the family choice and also the busiest. Skliri is small, sheltered and known more for its beach bar than its shore. Chalikiada, below a cliff path, is wild, clothing-optional and genuinely awkward to reach, so treat it as a scramble rather than a swim. The honest warning is the weekend one: midweek you may share Dragonera with four umbrellas, but from Friday afternoon Athenians arrive by the hundred and the loungers at Aponissos are gone before midday.
