Vagia Beach
A small sandy beach in a quiet fishing village in the north-east of Aegina. Less busy than Agia Marina and easy to combine with a taverna lunch and a visit to the Temple of Aphaia.
Vagia is a small, pleasant beach in one of the quietest villages in the north-east of Aegina. It has sand, clean water and a far more relaxed feel than Agia Marina in high season.
The setting is still fairly local, with a few tavernas by the sea and low houses around the little harbour. It is a good choice if you want a beach without the noise.
It is also very well placed for combining a swim with a visit to the Temple of Aphaia or the villages in the north of the island. Souvala, the island’s second ferry port, is the next stop west along this coast and has far more in the way of shops and tavernas.
Getting there
Car from Aegina town or Souvala; also by bus towards the north-east coast
